(Morristown, NJ) –The Morris Museum is pleased to announce the election of Irene Yew to the board of trustees. Ms. Yew is the vice president of service delivery and corporate strategy for Maersk Inc. of Madison, N.J., a position she has held since 2003. Ms. Yew has over 20 years of experience in various management positions involving finance, treasury, business planning and development including positions at Bank of America and Sea-Land Service, Inc.
"We enthusiastically welcome Irene Yewto the board of trustees," said Mary Chandor, chair of the board. "Her strong background and interest in the arts combined with her business experience will certainly be an asset to the Morris Museum.”
“I am honored to be able to serve on the board of trustees and look forward to participating and supporting the many arts projects undertaken by the Morris Museum,” said Ms. Yew.
A native of Hong Kong, Ms. Yew received her undergraduate degree from the University of Hong Kong. She also holds an MBA degree in Finance and Economics from Rutgers University and attended the PhD Economics program at New York University.
Ms. Yew and her husband reside in Chatham with their son.
Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum explores and celebrates the arts, sciences, and history through exhibitions, educational programs, performing arts and special events. The museum serves over 211,000 adults and children each year.
The Morris Museum, located at 6 Normandy Heights Road (at the corner of Columbia Turnpike) in Morristown, NJ, is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. Admission to the museum is $7 for adults and $5 for children, students and senior citizens.
