Workshops and Programs for Children and Families

Open Art Workshops
Thursdays 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Appropriate for all ages
$4/child for members; $5/child for non-members

Join museum educators to create your own work of art and have some fun.  Drop in anytime during the session to participate.

Super Science Saturdays

Saturdays Noon - 2:00 p.m.

Appropriate for ages 5 and up

Free for members; non-members: $3/child plus museum admission

Families are invited to drop in and participate in hands-on science workshops. Children will be introduced to the scientific method as they conduct experiments and observe the results.

Looking for something fun and educational to do with your young child? This program is for young children ages 2-5 and their caregivers. Activities include a mini gallery tour and an art project.

Young Fashionista Tea

Saturday, May 21 | 1:30 - 3 p.m.

$20 adults, $15 children

Enjoy an afternoon designed for your young fashion-lover. Visit the exhibition, On the Head and in the Hand: Hats and Purses from the Morris Museum Collection; hear fashion tips and design ideas and then have fun decorating a handbag. Tea time takes place in the museum's elegant Dodge Room, where cupcakes and beverages, including Shirley Temples, will be served. Space is limited. Mosaics with Eleanor Parr-DiLeo

Saturday, May 14 | 10 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

$20 members (plus materials fee)

$25 non-members (plus materials fee)

Learn the basics of mosaic art and create a beautiful trivet for your kitchen with mosaic artist, Eleanor Parr-DiLeo. No art or mosaic experience is required. A materials fee of $20, made payable to the instructor, will be due on the day of the program. This program is offered on the third Friday of every month at 1 p.m.

Jersey Rocks! The History of Rock & Roll in the Garden State

Visit the Morris Museum for an early afternoon of art and conversation with museum staff. Each program will include a highlights tour through the featured exhibition, engaging discussion in the galleries, and light refreshments. Pre-registration is not required.

Jersey Rocks Launch Party

Celebrate the opening of the exhibition Jersey Rocks: A History of Rock & Roll in the Garden State.  The E-Street Shuffle - " The Ultimate Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band" - will be performing and refreshments will be served.  Advance purchase is required. For tickets, please call the Box Office at 973-971-3706 Monday-Friday from 10-5.
