The Morris Museum is pleased to collaborate with ACA Galleries in New York to premiere the exhibition African-American Masters. Works by renowned artists, as well as lesser-known artist will be on view. Artists include Faith Ringgold, Romare Bearden, Benny Andrews, Aminah Robinson, Richard Mayhew, Joseph Delaney, Richard Hunt, Robert Duncanson and Charles White. The exhibition, while not exhaustive, is a survey of some of the most important African-American artists from different time periods and movements.
This exhibition was developed due to the success of the museum's last collaboration with ACA Galleries on the exhibition Anyone Can Fly-Faith Ringgold: A Survey, presented to great acclaim during the fall of 2005.
The Morris Museum is gratefully acknowledges The JPMorgan Chase Foundation as our generous sponsor of the African-American Masters exhibit.
