From June 24 to September
14, 2003 a selection of paintings, sculpture and drawings from Serena
Bocchino’s Romance Series will be exhibited as part
of the Morris Museum’s New Jersey Artist Series.
Bocchino’s work is inspired
by jazz music, which is depicted through the rhythmic line and color
on her canvases. The focus of Bocchino’s current works is lyrical
abstraction, described as spontaneous, whimsical and alive. Bocchino
uses dripped enamel paint as she mixes flat areas of her canvases
with detailed, three-dimensional areas.
