| Dinostories is a colorful,
hands-on exhibition that takes a fresh look at an ancient age. Highlights
of the exhibition include a rubbing table where visitors create a dinosaur
rubbing to take home, skeleton puzzles where children assemble dinosaur
bones on two four foot dinosaurs, and a fossil dig where visitors dig
through uncooked rice to uncover a fossil cast. Dinostories is a traveling
exhibition from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry in Portland,
Oregon and will be on display at the Morris Museum from September 30,
2003 through January 11, 2004. Dinostories compliments the Morris Museum's
permanent Dinosaur and Fossil Gallery, which includes real dinosaur
fossils and replications of dinosaur bones and body structures.
Pre-K through 3rd grade classes are welcome to take an educator-led
tour through Dinostories, which allows students to further investigate
the lives, habits and habitats of these extinct creatures. Call the
museum's school programs coordinator at 973.971.3710 to book one
of these programs.
