Workshops and Programs for Children and Families

Open Art Workshops
Thursdays 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

All ages
$4/child for members; $5/child for non-members


Join museum educators to create your own art project. Drop-in anytime during the session to participate.

June 10 Create a decorative clip for your shoe

June 24 Craft a hanging fish ornament

Super Science Saturdays

Saturday, Noon - 2:00 p.m.

Ages 5+

Free for members; non-members: $3/child plus museum admission

Families are invited to drop-in and participate in science workshops. Children will be introduced to the scientific method as they do experiments and observe the results.

June 5 Homemade Clay

Children will combine everyday ingredients to create homemade modeling clay.

June 19 Scientific Tie Dye

Are there multiple colors in the ink of your pen? Children will discover how to separate the different colors found in ink.

Tot Tours

The third Fridays of every month at 10:00 a.m.

Free with museum admission

Looking for something fun and educational to do with your young child? This program is for very young children and their caregivers. Activities include a mini gallery tour and an art project.

June 25 - Shoes!

Shoes are more than just something to put on your feet. Children will explore the current exhibition The Shoe Must Go On! and learn about different kinds of shoes.

Two Decades with Valeri Larko

Accomplished local artist Valeri Larko has spent more than twenty years painting urban and industrial landscapes on location in New York and New Jersey. Ms. Larko will explore the inspiration for her work and her vision for the current exhibition, Valeri Larko: Two Decades. Light refreshments will be served.

The third Friday of every month at 1 p.m.

Free with museum admission

Visit the Morris Museum for an early afternoon of art and conversation with the museum staff. Each program will include a highlights tour through a featured exhibition, engaging discussion in the galleries, and light refreshments. Pre-registration is not required.
